I'm a library media specialist at a small 7-12 school in a suburb of Rochester, New York. I have an opportunity to go to San Francisco Jan 18-the morning of the 22nd with my husband who is attending an Adobe Photoshop conference and would love to visit a secondary school library in the area, especially one who is incorporating the Internet and other technology. Some background about my situation: My library is automated with Alexandria, has a CD-ROM tower with 9 stations, and is networked to our 8 computers and a computer lab of 26. Our building has recently been networked and will have access to the Internet next year (at least that's the plan). I am just beginning to train teachers on the use of the internet and use an account on a one-on-one basis only with students as we have no AUP at this point. I've only been using the Internet for a year and feel like I have much to learn, especially concerning its incorporation into the curriculum, managing the training, etc. Our district is strictly Mac-based, but I don't believe the platform we use should hinder my learning from anyone. If you have any suggestions for me, or if you're willing to let me visit you, please e-mail me at: ewoods@servtech.com Thank you - I'm looking forward to visiting your wonderful city! Elaine Woods
