WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION JOB OPPORTUNITIES EDUCATION CONSULTANT INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction; Division for Libraries and Community Learning: Instructional Media and Technology; Madison. Start between $42,545 and $51,031 annually depending upon qualifications. A six month probationary period is required. JOB DUTIES: Provide statewide leadership in the integration of technology into PK-12 curriculum and educational programs. Participate in teacher preparation program reviews. Develop, facilitate and provide staff development opportunities through conferences and workshops. Coordinate participation in distance education programs. Lead planning efforts and represent DPI with schools, professional groups and educational agencies. Develop data bases, Internet site lists and other resources to assist schools with the integration of technology into education and learning. Well qualified candidates will have substantial elementary or secondary school teaching experience complimented by several years direct and applied experience with a wide range of relevant contemporary Instructional Technology tools. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: PK-12 curriculum and instructional design; technology use in instructional programs; federal and state educational technology initiatives; Wisconsin educational standards and requirements; principles of information literacy; school library media programs; distance education and technology planning processes; effective oral and written communication skills. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have sufficient training and experience to demonstrate that the skills and knowledge necessary to perform the tasks upon appointment have been acquired.
