Target: Flexible Scheduling

I'm new to LM_NET (like tonight), and I haven't even read all the info. So
please excuse any faux pas. I'll study up later.
I am media specialist at a Middle School (5th & 6th grades).  My principal
has decided to change the school schedule to a block schedule where the
students will be scheduled in the library all day, every day.  I am meeting
with him tomorrow to defend our current flexible schedule.  Would like to
be armed with quotes from educators, professional journals, Library
standards supporting flex scheduling.  Any advice or assistance would be
appreciated.  This is, unfortunately, 11th hour stuff.
