Dear Group: I apologize for bending the rules. I am not a librarian. I actually = work in Human Resources but, as you will see, I need broad-based = assistance. Background---I currently mentor three international students from Taiwan = in conversational English. They are in the United States for one year, = working on a master's thesis at a local university. They are bright and = dedicated students. In Taiwan they teach at the high school level. = Their English is something described as "Level 2." To research and to = write their paper requires a painstaking process of translating from = English into Chinese, then ultimately back into English in the form of = their own thought and hypothesis.=20 Request for advice or assistance---They need articles from research or = medical journals on the topic of exercise as it relates to mental = retardation in children. They need these articles to be written in = Chinese so that they can proceed more efficiently. The library at their = university and the library where I work have been helpful in searching = and finding the necessary journal articles written in English but have = hit a hard and high wall when it comes to finding similar articles in = Chinese. Once again, I sincerely apologize for this "one time" intrusion into = your forum. I will unsubscribe in a few days. =20 Any time, effort or consideration you can offer will be greatly = appreciated. Gary McMillen, Assistant Director, Human Resource Management, LSU = Medical Center, New Orleans, La. Phone (504) 568-4832. Fax (504) 568-8350. =20
