Problems always come in bunches so here's my next one. I remember there was a
thread on this before. I'd just like to know what the majority of you are
doing.

We have two printers networked to two PAC stations that are connected to two
towers of CD-ROM reference materials. Students have been taught that research
is gleaning important pieces from several pieces of information. They have been
told to read the articles and to print only lines of text not the entire
articles.

Do you charge students for printing? How much?

If you don't charge, do you allow students to print any amount?

Do you or the class teacher pre-approve the amount or what's being printed?

Going through toner and paper indicates use but 50 pages of full text articles
that continue to print after a class has left indicates lazy students and I
don't know how to monitor without tying up a lot of time. We've gone through 6
toner cartridges at $27/cartridge. I'm looking into reinking.

I'll post a hit this Friday. Thanks in advance!! Everyone is so prompt and
helpful on this listserv!
