Media Literacy skills

Hello!
I am an elementary schol media specialist, and I am gathering information
about media literacy.  Please share your definition of media literacy,
and media literacy skills that you feel are important for
elementary students.  Any suggestions for teaching strategies to
incorporate media literacy into media center cooperatively planned lessons
would be appreciated.  I will post a "hit" for suggestitons
