TECH: "HotMail"

Hi All--
Are any of you familiar with an Internet site called "HotMail."  Our
students do NOT have individual e-mail accounts through our school (they
work through a class account), but a couple of girls have found that they
can register with this Internet site and receive personal e-mail.  It
seems that their address would be something like:  jdoe@hotmail.com.   As
near as we can tell, there is no cost, but our concern is the lack of our
ability to do any monitoring of the e-mail that is sent or received.  We
would appreciate any info you might have about this site.
