storytelling

hi netters

i am a librarian at jr high level and a professional storyteller.  how much
storytelling as a part of the curriculum is going on out there?  i see a
need for it in history and social studies and literature enrichment and am
trying fill some of that need.  i have been successful at every age except
high school, where I can't get the teachers to try storytelling.  what are
your experiences?  TIA
