        ACT Study Skills Assessment and Inventory
                Assess students study skills; consists of Using

        California Test of Basic Skills
                Tests a number of information skills:  table of contents,
indexes, appropriate sources and outlining (4th grade level)
        Canadian Tests of Basic Skills
                Contained within the tests are:  reading of materials such
as graphs, maps, etc. and Reference materials including dictionary skills,
alphabetizing, using an index, locating information, e.g., almanacs,

                "Designed to measure student achievement in the skills
areas commonly found in school curricula;" examples, reference skills
        Ohio School Library/Media Test
                Measure organization, selection, utilization,
comprehension, production skills.  1978
        Process Skills Rating Scales
                Includes Library Research - 83 items
        Stanford Achievement Test
                "Measures student achievement in reading, mathematics,
language, spelling, study skills, science, social science, and listening."
