Dear Group,
Although I must have missed a similar request for information
about the company 100% educational videos, I thought I would
post a hit anyway in case anyone else missed it also. I also
got a few requests for a hit.
Here are the responses:
From Mary LeeFreeman:
We have tried this company this year. The journalism teacher
requested 6 videos and kept only one. She thought they were
generally "dated". For instance, the photography one used a
camera so old that it isn't available any more. The teachers
keep getting these lists, so I am helping them to review and
return the videos. We are waiting to know if they are worth
fooling with.
--
From Theresa Bermingham:
We received the same catalog. I found many of the same videos
in the Library Video Catalog before and have been very happy
with them. I did order the video on the Internet from the 100%
Co. and it just came today but I haven't had a chance to look
at it yet.
--
From Judy Self:
Several of my teachers received mailings from this company and
requested several titles for purchase. I would be interested
in the responses you receive about the quality of their videos
and their service. ....
--
From Joan Kimball:
100% Educational Videos is a distributor not a producer. They
get videos from a number of places, and the quality is
sometimes good, sometimes not so good. However, they are
reliable and willingly take back returns. Occasionally you can
find one of their videos more cheaply at Library Video Company.
--
From Bill F. Waters:
I, too, was skeptical...our catalog is for "4th grade teachers
in Illinois." (awfully specific and suspiciously so) but after
great preasure I ordered 2 tapes. They arrived in time and
were what they were supposed to be. One I realize is a
duplicate of the presentation they give to visitors at our
state capitol building...strange...
--
One kind person offered to drive by the place and give details
from within. I think this is too much to ask but certainly
reflects the generous nature of tthe members of LM_Net.
--
We are still trying to find cheaper substitutes for the videos
that the teachers are requesting. So we have not yet decided
what to do.
-Thanks for everyone's help!
