ELEM: 1st-2nd gr. 1 hr. library

Our district hasn't seen the light of flexible scheduling. We are told
that 1st and 2nd grade will be one hour once a week next year to have the
teachers receive a larger block of prep time than they have now (30 min
for each special). All specials will be one hour.

Does anyone do this now? If so, how do you keep the pace moving to make
the time go fast for the kids and not drag? How many activities are
appropriate and what kinds during the hour?
