Dorothy Broderick

      A marvelous lady is giving up a precious postion from which she has
helped all school librarians for many years.  Dorothy Broderick has shared
her heart with all of us for so many years that now it is weak and
struggling.  Her ethical standards, blended with a sharp sense of humor and a
stalwart defense of the kids' right to what they want to read combined with
the ability to select and critique thousands of books over the years, so that
VOYA became indispensible to all of us.  She deserves a shower of get well
cards from any librarian who has ever helped a YA find a book.  Her address
