I deleted the question about how to check on a doctor's background the other day
and have since run into 2 possible helps--
There is a site called Medi-Net at www.med-i-net.com which I read about in Smart
Money's January issue which is a database of every practicing physician's
educational background, licenses, certifications and violations which charges
$15 to mail or fax a report. This is based in Carlsbad, CA.
There is also 1-800-733-2267, the American Board of Medical Specialists, which
will verify board certifications.
