Want a little summertime fun?? Try the Great American Net Test.

WOMEN SURFING AT THE TOP OF THE WAVE
Taken by 16,500 Internet users, the "MCI Great American Net Test"
(cosponsored by the Educational Testing Service) yielded results indicating
that women are superior surfers. Of a possible 100 points, the average
score for men was 78.29 and the average score for women was 79.91. And
women 60 years of age and older scored 71.38, whereas boys 17 and younger
had an average score of only 70.64. MCI executive Vinton Cerf says: "The
actual variation in scores is rather small. What is significant is that
60-year-old women can keep up with the younger guys." (New York Times 3 Jul
97) http://www.nettest.mci.com (Source: Edupage, 3 July 1997.)

I could use a little help (though) on the questions in my test.
This isn't cheating -- when I go back to the site, they will give
a different set of questions. MULTIPLE CHOICE. The five actual
questions (Edit Copy and Paste, Send) used in test are listed below.

By the way, is there a quality control problem with this test?
Should a few librarians have checked it out first??

====================================================================

Q: What country is Spode porcelain made?

                The Netherlands
                Italy
                China
                Sweden

OK, OK -- where do you put Stoke-on-Trent??
Did they pack up recently and move from England??

Q: How many islands are in the Kiributi Group?

                15
                16
                17
                18

I thought it was spelled Kiribati (Gilbert, Phoenix, and
some of the Line Islands) --with 35 islands. Maybe MCI
           knows best.

Q: What was Harry Houdini's birth name?

                Ehrich Weiss
                Erik Weisz
                Theodore Wiess
                Eric Steiner

My New Columbia Encyclopedia (but old) says it was
Erich Weiss, so it must be the first one listed.

I didn't try the two questions below.

Q: What was the exact time - Central European Time- of the official
German surrender in World War II?

                1600 hours, May 7
                1301 hours, May 8
                1730 hours, May 8
                1700 hours, May 7

Q: Approximately how many eggs will a female Australian Redclaw
Crayfish produce if she weighs 60 grams?

                400
                350
                500
                750
