Maureen, One more point. One interview I went on was in a district where in each elementary school, the LMS were also required to be the "technology specialist" for the school, which meant keeping the teachers on top of the technology and training them, if necessary. Another recent interview was in a K-1 school with a newly created position of LMS/technology teacher. The library is small and next to it is a computer lab with 12 Macs. I would be expected to teach first graders library skills in the library for 45 minutes, then take the class to the lab for an additional 45 minutes to teach computer use (specifically, certain wp programs, none of which I'm currently familiar with). The kindergarteners would have a little load, but I wasn't told exactly how that would work. ( I just had the interview Wed.) Every school, it seems, has a different idea of what a LMS position should involve; luckily, I'm flexible and eager to try new things!
