Greetings, This is my first posting to LM_NET so I hope I have followed protocol correctly. I am a graduate student in Library and Information Studies hoping to be a school media specialist when I finish the program. I am in a summer school class and am seeking information about the technical and computer related skills that school media specialists should possess in order to carry out their jobs successfully. I realize this will vary from district to district because of size and staffing differences, but I am simply gathering data at this point. I would greatly appreciate answers to the following questions from willing individuals: 1) If you were writing a job description for your current position, what technical/computer oriented skills would you put into it as desired or necessary? 2) What technology related personnel is your district currently employing (MIS, tech. support, etc.)? 3) How large is your school district? ( estimated numbers of students or buildings) Thanks much.
