What would you like your School Board to know about your Media Center?

WASL is preparing a presentation for the Wisconsin Association of School
Boards conference in January and your suggestions are needed.  Lobbying
legislators is  important to ensure continued support for libraries, but
school media specialists must also educate School Board members about the
value of strong media programs in schools. With electronic information
sources, why do we need books?  With computers in classrooms,
why do we need media specialists?  With ever increasing demands to
stretch education dollars, why should some be allocatd to media programs?

Proposals for presentations must be submitted to the WASB Conference
Committee in August.  Gloria Young is coordinating the project for WASL.
