I have made up tests for many of the books I have in my library that were not available through Advantage Learning Systems. One student (8th grader) asked me to make up a test for Forrest Gump. I turned it around and asked her to make up the test. I gave her a few guidelines ( the ones in the user's manual) such as a student must read the book not just watch the movie. She did a very good job, I only had to condense one question that was too long. When I told one of the teachers what had happened, she said she would assign that project to her students next year. I will, of course, make sure the tests make sense and include the correct answers. Wnyone have any comments. Is this a good idea or bad?
