Well, I don't have much to say about dust mites except:

They are microscopic little bugs which are hard to identify, even with samples.

The only way to be sure they are gone is to put books in bags, fumigate the
bags, seal them and leave them for a few days (Hardly a reaasonable
solution for most of us!)

It was recommended that we do a really good vacuuming job (better than our
custodians) with a vacuum with an environmental filter, then set up a
dehumidifer with the same filter.
