JAPAN NOVELS

Subject: Re: Japan Novels

----------------------------Original message----------------------------
You didn't identify what reading level you wanted for novels on
Japan. I recently read Shizuko's Daughter by Kiyoko Mori and really
enjoyed it. Mori has also written some other novels that take place
in Japan but I can't remember the titles off the top of my head.
They have been published in the last two years or so. Katherine
Patterson has also written some novels that take place in Japan. The
Master Puppeteer is one title. Under the Blood Red Sun by Graham
Salisbury tells the story of a Japanese family living in Hawaii
during World War II. The Road to Manzanar tells the story of a
Japanese American girl sent to an internment camp.

Any book about quilts to talk about patterns, shapes and tessellations.
