HIT: Scanners

Thanks to those of you who wrote with recommendations for scanners.  The
results were:

6 people liked HP scanners (one person had 4, 3 black and white and one
color, and liked them all)  Several mentioned the 4C color scanner.

4 people recommended UMAX.  Models 512, 630, and Vista were mentioned.

1 person liked the Microtek E6

1 person DIDN'T like the Microtek Scannermaker

Many people said to make sure we got good software.  Many scanners come
with software.  2 articles, in addition to the recent one in PC Novice,
were mentioned, one in the 2/97 issue of Mac User and one in the 3/97 issue
of MacWorld.
