REACHING YOUNG READERS:
A COORDINATED APPROACH TO MARKETING YOUTH SERVICES

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (packet pick-up; check-in starts at 8:30 a.m.)
Ft. Worth Convention Center

Reaching young readers - and their parents - in an environment filled
with competing and contradictory messages is one of the major challenges
for modern library service. In this entry-level preconference, sharpen
your public relations and marketing skills, build community and
institutional support for youth programs, and focus on creating effective
partnerships.

The presenters, representing a team of Oklahoma academic, public, and
school libraries, succeed with coordinated public relations and marketing
strategies.

Presenters are: Kathy Latrobe, Professor, School of Library and Information
Studies, University of Oklahoma;
Jane Lilly, Branch Manager, Moore (OK) Public Library;
Anne Masters, Director of Media Services and Instructional Technology,
Norman (OK) Public Schools; and
Desiree Webber, Manager, Children's Services, Moore (OK) Public Library.

Sponsored by Children's Round Table, TLA Public Relations Committee,
Texas Association of School Librarians, Texas State Library and Archives
Commission, and Young Adult Round Table.
