The keynote address at the General Session II on April 5, Saturday at 8:30
in Portland will be given by Christopher Cerf. Mr. Cerf is --- among other
things --- an author, record and television producer, editor,
composer/lyricist, humorist/satirist, educational consutant, computer
software designer, and president of his own company. He was the founding
Editor-in Chief of the Children's Television Workshop's Products Group and
played a major role in the ongoing funding of the Sesame Street television
show, thorugh the creation and licensing of educational records, toys and
books.
Mr. Cerf and his frequent colleague, Sarah Durkee, collaborated on
writing and producing a series of music videos for Square One TV,the
mathematics series. His current project is the PBS show under production
called Between the Lines
For all his success in education, publishing and music, Cerf is
perhaps best known to the general public for his work as a humorist. In
1970, he helped launch National Lampoon His most recent book, the Official
Politically Correct Dictionary, written with Henry Beard, also made
national bestseller lists.
BEST OF ALL, I have it on excellent authority (those who have heard
him speak) that Christopher Cerf is an entertaining and knowledgeable man
who captivates his audiences! See you there!
During the same session, ther will be a roll call of all the states
and their "counts" for this initiate will be given with pride.
