Thanks to all the wonderful LM_Netters who responded to my question
regarding weeding. The general responses included:
1)Poor physical condition
2)Obsolete or outdated content
3)Unneeded duplicates

Also, Information Power says,
"Having outdated or inaccurate materials in a collection discourages use,
gives a false impression of the adequacy of the collection, wastes time
of the staff, and obstructs users in their search for useful materials.
Covered in the criteria for removal from the collection include: out of
date materials, materials no longer used or of slight utility, materials
with any significant portion of the information that is outdated."

We all might want to include some kind of weeding policy (or at least a
statement) in our Selection and Procedure Policies. :-]
