about:global

Hello all,
     Could someone please tell me where I can go to find more info. on
about:global.   I know how to type about:global in the location line to
get a list of where people have been on the computer.  How can I set it
to adjust how far back it will go?  and In what order do the sites
appear?  Can I change them to be in order by date??  or ??? how else do
they appear.  I can not seem to understand the order the sites appear
