ELEM: Career Books

        I am in my second year as a library media specialist.  I have just
started weeding for the first time.  I have discarded an old, old
(copyright 1957!) set of career books for young children.  It is the "I
want to be..." series by Carla Greene.  These books were very
stereotypical and did not provide current information.  What I need from
you are suggestions on a career series to replace the one I discarded.  I
am in a K-5 school.  I would like career books that feature both men and
women in the profession and are something that could be read by students
as young as 2nd grade.  If you have purchased a set of outstanding career
books, please send the titles and publisher's name to me.  I will post a
hit if others are interested and I receive enough responses.  Thanks!
