K-12 Reference Books

A K-12 library media specialist friend has some money to spend and wants
some feedback from this group regarding your favorite reference books for
elementary, middle, and high school library media centers.  I recommended
several CD-ROM reference sources, but to be honest I have not kept up with
all of the recent book reference sources and would appreciate your
suggestions.  I've recommended those reference books identified in the
School Library Journal but would like to hear from the LM_NET membership.
