Target: Elem. parent class

I am interested in working with our counselor and parent coordinator to
begin classes for our parents concerning reading to/with their
children.  I am particularly thinking of our Pre-K and Kindergarten
parents and had thought the classes might take place 1-2 times a month
maybe 30 minutes or so before dismissal times.

I'd be interested if you've done something like this, what you did, any
professional resources that can be bought, etc.  Do you allow parents to
check out books from your school library to share with their children?
Do you have any problems getting parents to return them?

I'd appreciate any advice you can give.
