I like the way this discussion is going. I think this is a fundamental issue in our information age. When do we teach students to evaluate --- tools? resources? information? The new AASL/AECT guidelines have a standard that focuses the learner on becoming an independent information seeker and knowledge constructor. What is our role here? How do we foster this independence? How do we encourage learners to apply effective evaluative criteria?
