In response to Denise on the pros and cons of keeping a shelf list: It all depends on the software you are using and the configuation of yourcatalog! I have been in two school libraries where the online catalo= g was sufficient for our shelf list needs. Both programs would print out a= s complete a list of information on each title as we wanted, and it was ver= y simple to print out a shelf list whenever we wanted one. In both schools= , we pitched our shelf list with great confidence. Currently I am at a public library which has a catalog of all the libraries within our system= =2E = As a result, it is more bother than it is worth to have the system print out a shelf list when we want one, so we still have our shelf list drawers...
