ELEM:NYC Marathon

Dear LM_NET members-

I found an interesting book that some of you might use this time of year. It
is an Easy book THE ADVENTURES OF ALBERT THE RUNNING BEAR by Judi Eisenberg.
It is a story of a bear who finds himself in the midst of the NYC Marathon.
There is also a good nuitrition theme. I am using it this week with my K and
First grade classes along with newspaper accounts of the race. I also have
the stuffed animal (in jogging suit) to accompany it. I actually had the
bear in the house before I saw the title in a catalog. One never knows where
the next inspiration will come from !
