SEC: Need Novel Idea for 8th grade

Happy autumn everyone!

One of our 8th grade teachers came into the library yesterday looking for
some new ideas.  They have been using the novels _The Pigman_ and _The
Outsiders_ with 8th grade classes for years and the teachers are starting
to feel stale.  So they are looking for fresh ideas, especially for
honors-level 8th grade students.  Before it gets suggested, _The Giver_ is
already part of the 7th grade English program.

I am also looking through reviews and our collection, as well as racking my
brains trying to think of the good YA books I've read recently, but any
help that my cyber-colleagues can give would be much appreciated!!
