I hope EVERYONE who experiences challenges to library materials will
promptly contact the Office of Intellectual Freedom of American Library
Association (Chicago). This office maintains records of challenges to
titles across the country, and will send a packet which includes prior
challenges, outcomes, biographical info on the author, professional
reviews of the title, etc. They are very responsive and supportive. I'm
sorry that I am at home and do not have ALA's number handy. I see so
many requests for help posted to this listserv ... it is good to get
support and input from each other, but please allow OIF to help, as
well. Also, please be sure to let them know so that they can monitor and
record your challenge.
