TARGET: YA LIT-Maya Angelou

Hello LM-netters,
I am searching and researching information about Maya Angelou. I have
found numerous helpful sites on the web.  However I must admit that I am
having some trouble finding info concerning 'why the author's work is
comsidered important for young adults.'  This aspect is particularly
important to my research.  Do you have any suggestions?  Thank you for
