Hi all,
I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I solved this problem. I stretched out the
Dewey number until it meant that all the bear books were together, lion
books, etc. Yes, the numbers are terribly long. However, it was a matter of
necessity. The elementary library that I did this for had 9 shelves of
books in the 590's (over 4 shelves were the 599's by themselves)! The only
way we could find a book was if it had a looo---oong Dewey number. My
volunteers tease me about trying to make the Guiness book of records for
Dewey number. Still, it works.
  Have a good turkey day.

P.S. If the animal section was lo--ng, it was nothing compared to what I
had to do with the fairy tale, folk tale, etc. section. It was 12 shelves
deep.!!! Still, all the pig, chicken, country tales were together. ;-)
