I'd like some input as to how to handle constant interruptions when I'm teaching. I'm in a busy K-5 library, and except for 45 minutes of aide time, once a day, I'm alone. I am constantly interrupted by students who were sent to get a book, techers, paras...you name it. I don't mind the visits when I don't have a class, but when I have classes, it's most distracting. Today while I was reading a story, two paras came in and decided to have a nice loud conversation by the book shelves! I polietly asked them to have the conversation elsewhere and got some very dirty looks. It seems there is no concept of the library as my classroom. I'm very frustrated. I've distributed a library schedule to all teachers, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Thanks for your input.
