Greetings: One thing I really have learned from this list serv is that there is no norm or standard for anything it seems. Aside from our own preferneces - Whether we are above or beneath shelving - there are libraries in every every every condition. Some have buckets of money, some have none - some have paras some don't - some have volunteers some don't - some kids shelve some don't - some have supportive principals some don't. You do what you have to do in the situation you are given. We all may have our preferences, but when 300 books are piled on the floor and carts there isn't much choice, is there?
