We have been running our CD-ROM databases (SIRS, UMI Proquest) on three CD-ROM changers on our stand-alone computers. Now that we're getting a network up, we are considering buying a CD-ROM tower (if we can find the money). If you are using a CD-ROM tower, or if you haven't bought yours yet but have done the footwork for getting the necessary info, could you: 1. send info on vendors of CD-ROM towers? (and prices, if you have) 2. tell me about potential problems using one (if any) 3. let me know if there is any other additional cost incurred when buying a tower (cables, software, etc), that would not be included in the price of the tower? 4. if you are responding from NYC or New York State, does the vendor have a city/state contract or vendor #? Please send responses to address below (our internet account at school is down until...) Thanks in advance!
