Many, many thanks to all of you who responded to my request for
country sites. There were too many responses to record them all,
but the most frequently mentioned sites (and ones that our
students used successfully) were :

http://www.n-polk.k12.ia.us/Pages/Departments/media/country.html
http://www.odci.gov/cia/publications/nsolo
http://lcweb2.loc.gov/frd/cs/cshome.html
http://www.city.net/countries
http://www.capecod.net/schrockguide/world/worldci.htm
http://www.hc.cc.tx.us/library/nation.htm

We were able to type this list up in advance and distribute to
those students who have internet access at home. Both teachers
and students were pleased and impressed! Again, many thanks.
