The Wake County Public School System currently has several Media Specialist
vacancies.  These openings cover K-8, part-time and full-time positions.
Applicants must have a valid NC teaching license and Masters Degree in
Library Science.

The following principals asked me to repost the prevoious announcement with
their names and phone numbers to contact as well as Human Resources.


1/2 time Position - Carnage Middle School - Principal, Mr. Leonard King, 919
856-7600, (6-8 grade school in Raleigh, NC, Library Power School, gifted and
talented magnet school. Position is media/video teacher. There are 2 other
full-time media specialists and a full-time  assistant. Fairly new media
center, automated, networked)

1/2 time Position - Willow Springs Elementary, Willow Springs, NC -
Principal, Charles Langley, 919 557-2770, (K-5 school, fairly new media
center, automated, networked. There is already a full-time media specialist
at the site.)

Full-time Position: Brentwood Elementary School, Raleigh, NC - principal Dr.
Linda McMasters, 919 850-8720. (K-5 school, fairly new media center,
automated, networked,  flexible scheduling). You can fax a resume to Dr.
McMasters at 919 850-8728.

Full-time Position: Briarcliff Elementary School, Cary, NC - principal Ms.
Jane Ann Hughes, 919 460-3443. (K-5, new media center, automated, networked)

Full-time Position: Apex Elementary School, Apex, NC - principal, Dr. Laurel
Crissman, 919 387-2150. (K-5 magnet school, fairly new media center,
automated, flexible schedule, Library Power School,  There is another media
specialist already on site)

Full-time Position: Brooks Elementary School, Raleigh, NC - principal, Mr.
James Hargett, 919 881-1350. ( K-5, fixed schedule, automated)

All of the Wake County Schools 6-12 have flexible scheduling and most of the
K-5 schools do as well.  We are in the process of installing a WAN that will
link all classrooms and all buildings together and will include the internet.
 Wake County is located in the eastern Piedmont section of NC. Raleigh is the
capital of NC and makes up part of the Research Triangle which includes
Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
