LM_Netters: I wanted you to know that the author, Janelle Brown, of a recent _Wired_ magazine article about the American School Directory is planning another article on this issue. She'd like to hear from those objecting to ASD. Her email address is janelle@wired.com PLEASE do not swamp her with massive email though. Questions she'd ask are... - What are the problems with the ASD? What do you object to? Where is it misleading? primary concerns? And what's worthwihle about it? - Do you think the ASD could have any advantages for some schools? For example, those who don't already have web sites or access to the Internet? - What kind of action are those who are opposed to the sites taking? - Have you spoken with anyone from the ASD? and what was their response? - What have the reactions from the educational community been? And are reactions different in the communities which are already "wired up" and have their own school web sites, and the unwired schools which are more technology impaired? - What do you think should be done to make the ASD legitimate? Or are there other projects (such as family education network) which are doing the same concept better?
