It seems vital to have the teachers "grade" the validity of the sources. It's my opinion that poor resource choices will contribute to a poor paper or project, and if that is emphasized and reinforced by teachers it makes the point to the students. I don't think this current concern of students choosing ease over validity is so much different from "my day" when we went straight to the World Book for any topic from China to Hester Prynne. We were taught (and learned, eventually) that even though you may find SOMETHING on Hester Prynne in the World Book, it will probably not be sufficient to build an A paper upon.
