WOW! What a heart-wrenching book! The story opens with a 13-year-old boy learning that his grandfather had a stroke and is place in an intense care section of a nursing home. He finds a letter saying "open only if I am sent to the other wing>" In it the grandafther essentially asks for the boy to end his life. He can't tell his father (a lawyer) or his mother (a judge) and he dares not tell anyone else. He hopes the grandfather will die so he won't have to "do it" while his father (the sone of the grandfather) gives permission to put the grandfather on life support machines if needed. This brings the situation to a head. The only downfall of the book is the cover - BORING. If even put off reading it because of the cover - make sure that you read it.
