Thanks for all the quick responses about networking older macs such as LCII's, LCIII's, 575, 580 etc. Ethernet Cards can be purchased from MacWarehouse or T.D. Curran. Check out website for Curran at http://www.tdcurran.com. I received information from another listserv I belong to for Ohio tech coordinators that recommended Curran because of cost & service. Everyone suggested upgrading memory. The upgrades ranged from 8MB to 32 MB. Everyone who responded is using Netscape as their browser, most use version 2.02 however those who upgraded the memory to 20 MB or 32Mb are running 3.0 and had very few problems. Problems experienced with machines freezing has to do with memory. That is why it is extremely important to upgrade memory. One thing to keep in mind especially if you have new machines, the older MACs will run slower but in my opinion it much better than nothing at all when you are on a limited budget. I had only one negative comment about Windows NT. Hope this helps everyone who is getting ready to network their building(s). If I get any different responses I will post them later. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to: listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write either: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET or 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST For more help see LM_NET On The Web: http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
