If you can stand another idea for shelf markers--I get
 plastic molding strip from Lowe's and my husband contributes
 his time and effort to cut the 6 foot strips into the desired
 lengths and then sands the ends. I finish them up by pasting
 stickers on both ends of each marker. Occasionally a student
does break one of the strips but they can be mended with plastic
 mending tape if you want to keep them going. And they're not
so expensive that you would feel bad throwing the broken one
away.
