I frequently lose data for my electronic card catalog that I first save to a disk, then merge, then reindex. My tech said to always format the disk on the machine on which you work, even if it says formatted. I have a Windows 95 IBM compatible on a Windows NT network. My cataloging system is CALICO Lion. Sometime into the save I get failure to write to disk,or write protection fault, work may be lost. Abort, retry or fail? Any words of wisdom? Any certain 3.5" disks to avoid?
