It must be April Fool's Day, right? Just to see if anyone was paying attention...the Weed of the Month topic for **April** is biographies. At the end of **April** we will paost web pages on the topic of biographies. Please share the good, the bad, and the ugly you find in your biography collection with the group. This may be a difficult topic to tackle, after all, we remember sports stars from 20 years ago, but are our students today interested? Is a biography of Bob Griese on the same level as one about jackie Robinson or Mickey Mantle? How do you decide what to keep and what to pitch? Is a 20 or 30 year old biography of Davy Crockett sensitive to today's concerns for portraying Native Americans accurately ? Lots to think about... -- It does not matter how many books you may have, but whether they are good or not. — Lucius Annaeus SENECA (3 B.C.-65 A.D.)
