Great Bookmark Suggestion

Dear Group,

     Here is a wonderful bookmark concept.  Ms. Adams an English
teacher from Stevenson Middle School in Los Angeles came up with this
idea.

     Students visualize scenes from their novels, then create beautiful
bookmarks depicting these scenes.  Students have to cover the whole
bookmark with crayons, colored pencils or markers on front.  On the
back of the bookmark students have to  write title of book, author and
sign their names.
            I use these bookmarks as extra credit for students who finish
reading early.  They allow students to visualize what they read and
they're a lot of fun to do.  When bookmarks are finished, I have them
laminated and donate them to Mr. Oram, our librarian.  When students at
our school check out a book, they automatically get a free bookmark
made by one of our students.  It's great advertisement for reading a
book!
