REF: Trademarks

I cannot find an official answer to this question:  when using a
trademark name in a research paper, must the trademark sign be attached
to EACH mention of the business or can this be taken care of in a first
parenthesis, a note of explanation or some other one-time use?  Thanks.  Pat
