Dear LM_Net Members: I am a media specialist student at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and am new to the LM_Net Listserv. I am sure the subject I am bringing up has been discussed in the past, but I would appreciate some feedback from those of you who are out in the field. My classmates and I were having a discussion on how to handle overdue books and had differing views on whether children should be allowed to check out more books if they have not returned the books they checked out the previous week. It seems that teaching responsibility is in conflict with encouraging reading. Does anyone have a good compromise? Thanks for your help, Jill LaBarbera, Student Univ. of Wis.
